This franchise has been a favorite of mine since childhood. The original movie wasn’t very good. There is a ton of exposition in Dune. Seeing how they handle this will be interesting. Reading the books helps.
Well, there is no way they can possibly make anything worse than the original movie, and the Sci-Fi mini-series was pretty good. Like Lord of the Rings, this is a novel that is so long and complex it is difficult to condense down into a movie. Please, God, though, no floating, bloated fat men with skin problems!
