The animation in Missing Link is Laika at their finest. Visually, it is beautiful from start to finish. Even the credits have little touches throughout to keep you looking and entertained. As for story, this isn’t one of their better efforts. It’s alright but there is nothing really unique or special about the story or the writing. There’s some good humor here, some that doesn’t quite land. The voice acting is very good throughout. Hugh Jackman and Zach Galifinakis especially shine and make some of the dialogue work much better than the writing deserves.
If you want to see Laika at their best, go watch Kubo or Coraline or ParaNorman. If you just want a fun and entertaining family movie then go ahead and check out Missing Link. It could’ve been better but it’s still good.
